  • I have insurance. What is my cost?

Your cost is determined by your insurance company. We will check the insurance company website to try to find out for you; however, it is always best if you check with your insurance company to know what your benefits are.

  • Why are my costs different each time I come?

There are many reasons why this could be the case, as your insurance company determines the cost to you.

    • Your initial visit may have a different allowable rate
    • Your insurance deductible has not been met
    • Your insurance has a coinsurance percentage instead of a flat rate
  • Can insurance cover court-ordered therapy?

Sometimes, but only when the therapy meets clinical criteria for medical necessity. In some cases, therapy can be considered medically necessary if:

    • The client has a diagnosable mental health condition (e.g., anxiety, depression, PTSD)
    • The treatment is clinically appropriate and uses recognized CPT codes
    • The provider is in-network with the plan and agrees to do the court-ordered therapy
  • When can insurance not be billed?

Insurance typically does not cover services that are:

    • Administrative or legal in nature, such as custody evaluations or parenting coordination
    • Mandated without a diagnosis, where the goal is compliance rather than treatment
    • Forensic assessments, which are used to inform legal decisions rather than provide care

These services fall outside the scope of mental health treatment and are not considered reimbursable by insurance. We believe therapy should be accessible and meaningful, not just a checkbox. If you're navigating court-ordered treatment, we're here to help clarify options and ensure your care is both supportive and ethically sound. We, however, cannot guarantee that your insurance will cover any services.
