Founded in 1984, Southpark Psychology offers a range of general psychological services to patients of all ages. As a locally owned company, we strive to offer personalized service with 26 independent providers available to treat a range of issues. Our highly trained independent providers offer all levels of private practice therapy and use the latest techniques and state-of-the-art technology to treat our patients with the best practices.  Parking is available at both our office sites.

Dr. Carl Vincent, LCPC

Dr. Carl Vincent, LCPC

Dr.Vincent specializes in working with individual adults who are experiencing various forms of relational base problems. This includes adults who have a chronic history of repeated relationship failures, adults who repeatedly commit adultery or have had their partners commit adultery. 

Dr. Vincent has extensive expertise in working with those who are entering or actively experiencing a divorce. This also includes dealing with the divorce aftermath phase and the reconstruction of a post-divorce adult life. 

Those who have suffered various degrees of abuse in their relationships is also a focus of Dr. Vincent’s practice.
Dr. Vincent is experienced in working with various types of depressive and bipolar spectrum disorders. This includes the initial evaluation and focusing both on short-term and long-term treatment objectives. 


Dr. Sharon Lash, Psychologist

Dr. Sharon Lash, Psychologist

Dr. Lash is a licensed clinical psychologist working in the general practice of psychology. Dr. Lash works with adults, couples, and parents to help improve daily living, performance, family life and manage other life-changing experiences such as grief, loss, or divorce. 

She treats the full range of anxiety and mood disorders, including phobias, depression, and bipolar disorders. Experienced working with post-traumatic stress and dissociation and stress from body pain. This includes individuals who have experienced car accidents, sexual or physical abuse, medical traumas or are recovering alcoholics. 

She also works with eating disorders, including those who struggle with binge eating that impact health conditions. Dr. Lash addresses issues with attachment for individuals who find it difficult to form new relationships or develop comfortable or close relationships with their loved ones. 

She also works with those whose stress or emotional conflict has compromised physical problems or medical illnesses. Dr. Lash is a certified EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing), Somatic Experiencing Practitioner (SEP), and Brain Spotting Therapist.  Dr. Lash has a post-doctoral masters of science in clinical psychopharmacology (MSCP).
Dr. Lynn Garvin-Huntley, Psychologist

Dr. Lynn Garvin-Huntley, Psychologist

Dr. Garvin-Huntley is in the general practice of psychology with an emphasis on the problems of women and couples. She is interested in helping people with issues of adjustment, women's adjustment to motherhood, men and women's adjustment to marriage and parenthood, and parents' adjustment to parenting adolescent children. 

Dr. Garvin-Huntley provides psychological services to individuals suffering from depression, anxiety, trauma, grief, postpartum depression, and health concerns. 

The focus of treatment is on alleviating distress and enhancing personal well-being. Dr. Garvin-Huntley also has a special interest in treating the psychological aspects of chronic fatigue and fibromyalgia and is EMDR trained. 
Dr. Gary Brent Ludwig, Psychologist

Dr. Gary Brent Ludwig, Psychologist

Dr. Ludwig is a licensed clinical psychologist providing services to adolescents and adults. Common presenting problems include depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety, relationship problems, and adjustment to health issues.

Dr. Ludwig also conducts psychological assessments including pre-surgical psychological evaluations, pre-employment screening, memory assessments, and evaluation of other cognitive issues such as attention problems. 

He has a special interest in the areas of health psychology, public safety psychology, and cognitive assessment.
Dr. Debbie Sommers, LCSW

Dr. Debbie Sommer,  LCSW

Dr. Debbie earned her Master's Degree from the University of Iowa. She went back to school and earned a PhD  in 2007. Debbie provides a peaceful place for clients to join her in finding solutions to not only feel better, but also grow into the person they want to be using techniques such as cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), insight oriented, stress management, and solution-focused approaches. 

Debbie has expertise in working with all age groups from children to seniors. Debbie is a Medicare provider and has provided counseling services to the senior population on various issues such as adjustment to illness, aging, hoarding disorder, adjustment to retirement and grief for over 25 years. Debbie has a Certificate in Traumatic Stress Studies through the Trauma Center and the Trauma Research Foundation, a 75 hour trauma treatment program.

Jan Willis, MS, LCPC

Jan Willis, MS, LCPC

Jan's treatment approach honors the mind / body / spirit approach to healing the entire self. Jan is non-judgmental and accepting. This is a place where you can tell your story and be honored for where you "are" and also receive help to get to where you want to be. 

Jan teaches mindfulness, distress tolerance, interpersonal skills, and crisis intervention (dialectical behavioral therapy). She also uses cognitive behavioral therapy, the gold-standard for mood disorders, to treat depression and anxiety disorders. 

Trained after 9/11, Jan has been a trauma specialist for 10 years, using eye movement desensitization and reprocessing [EMDR] as a successful treatment for patients ages 6 to 75. For those who choose faith-based sessions, therapy is approached with prayer and incorporates scriptural stories and biblical truths. 

Clients have stated, "I have never known a therapist who uses scripture and faith throughout the sessions like Jan does" - and through mercy and grace, they achieve recovery. Jan has experience with clients of all ages, works with families to preserve the family unit, and with couples to honor marriage.
Andy Furgason, LCPC

Andy Furgason, LCPC

Andy earned a Master of Science degree in Clinical Psychology from Western Illinois University. He is in general practice working with adolescent and adult individuals as well as couples to address multiple issues including depression, anxiety, stress, work and school-related issues, anger management, grief and loss, and marital / partner relational problems. 

Andy specializes in treating the anxiety disorders: panic, phobias, obsessive-compulsive disorder, and posttraumatic stress disorder using evidence-based treatments-cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and exposure and response prevention therapy (ERP).
Cynthia Green, LCPC

Cynthia Green, LCPC

Cynthia provides counseling to individuals, marriages, and families of any age. She offers assistance with issues related to managing anger, grief, anxiety, and depression. Other areas of experience and interest include infidelity / separation / divorce, unemployment, ex-offender, career counseling, pre-marital counseling and multi-cultural issues. 

Cynthia has an extensive background in ministry and works from a Christian perspective to assist in the area of faith-related concerns. She is also available to facilitate groups or workshops on a variety of mental health topics for churches, social, or civic organizations.
Valerie Olson, LCPC

Dr. Valerie Olson, LCPC

Valerie earned a Master of Science degree in Counseling from Western Illinois University and her Psy.D in 2024 from the Theological Foundation. She is high energy yet has a calming presence. She works from an accepting, nonjudgmental framework treating the client as a partner in the journey to discover who and where they want to be. 

She has success working with diverse patient populations including mood disorders, anxiety disorders, grief issues, domestic violence, codependency, addiction issues, adjustment issues, dealing with illness and chronic pain and crisis intervention. 

She enjoys counseling adult individuals with relationship concerns with spouse, family, and peers; relating to the challenges of life changes / phases; child and adolescent adjustment; family interactions including stepfamily concerns; anger / stress management; work-related stress / crises; career issues; identity / self-image issues; and general life stress.
Dale Guebert, LCPC

Dale Guebert, LCPC

Dale's areas of expertise include individual / family therapy, anger management, school issues, behavioral concerns in children and adolescents and strengthening the parent / child relationship. Dale has over 28 years of addressing unhealthy patterns in relationships and replacing them with productive and sustaining skills. 

Dale is adept at working with anger management issues with men, grief and loss, post-divorce concerns, major depression, bi-polar issues, workplace problems, and blended family concerns. Dale's skills and expertise offer individuals a pathway to hope through the use of a variety of counseling techniques including Christian counseling.
Alex Hogg, LCSW

Alex Hogg, LCSW 

Alex specializes in working with individuals who have suffered trauma. He works with client’s ages 11 to 80 to aid them in uncovering underlying issues. Alex works through the trauma using a multi directional approach including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Mindfulness practice, and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). He is able to address many issues, including Anxiety, ADHD, Cutting and Self Harming behaviors, defiant behavior, and pain management. 

Tom Asby, LCSW

Tom Asby, LCSW

Tom specializes in working with individuals and couples who deal with unresolved trauma in their lives. He works with clients ages 13 and over to aid them in uncovering underlying issues that prevent from enjoying a healthy, fulfilled life. 

Tom works through the client's trauma using several approaches including EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Mindfulness practice, ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), and CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy). 

Utilizing these techniques, Tom is able to address various issues, including anxiety, depression, couples and marital counseling, anger management, and domestic abuse and control issues. He believes that trauma, grief, and loss are at the heart of many ongoing problems and addressing those concerns can create an environment of healing and hope on which to build healthy lives. 

Tom is a graduate of Mount Mercy University and St. Ambrose University and has practiced in a variety of settings such as community mental health, and non-profit organizations since 2010.
Tara Smith-Prybil, LCPC

Tara Smith-Prybil, LCPC

Tara encourages people to challenge themselves to work through and overcome the obstacles, whether self-imposed or other, that they face in their life. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with over 10 years of experience. 

Tara has a special interest in working with people 10+ who struggle with anxiety, depression, eating disorders, PTSD, and relationship challenges. She utilizes cognitive behavioral therapy and solution-focused therapy in her practice. 

Initiating counseling services can be difficult, Tara's goal is to provide a warm and welcoming presence to help people work through the issues they present in therapy.
Frank Woolley, LCSW

Frank Woolley, LCSW

Frank has a Masters of Science in Social work and a Certificate in advanced Social welfare from Columbia University School of Social Work in New York City.  He is a member if the Academy of Certified Social Workers.  He is experienced in helping people with the wide variety of troubles we encounter in today's world, including but not limited to, anxiety, depression, anger, marital and relationship problems, divorce, work stress, crisis due to job loss, adjustment to college life,adoption issues and family tension. 
Elizabeth Galbraith

Elizabeth Galbraith, LCSW

Elizabeth is a supportive, trauma-informed therapist who values the therapeutic relationship while problem-solving and working toward shared goals. She has worked for over 20 years with children, teens, and families experiencing trauma / crises including stressors such as home life or school challenges including ADHD, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, sexuality and identity exploration. 

She often uses popular culture as a source of treatment including Pokemon, superheroes, My Little Pony, and movies. She has joined with adult women and men to help resolve anxiety, depression, grief and loss, parenting, interpersonal relationships, symptom management of persistent mental illnesses and phase of life stressors. 

She has worked extensively with persons who have experienced trauma including sexual assault, violence, and child abuse to feel empowered. Beth uses a combination of Cognitive Behavioral, Behavior Management, Solution-Focused, and Narrative therapy. Beth works with people ages 4+ to people experiencing end-of-life decisions.
Stephanie Parker

 Kathleen Morse, LCPC

Kathleen works with children and adults presenting a wide range of issues, including depression, anxiety, anger, grief and loss, stress management, and ADHD.

She has a strong emphasis and interest in women's issues, including self-esteem/self-worth, body image, guilt and self-blame, and relationship problems. Kathleen has experience in counseling older adults and the effects of life transitions and loss that can be associated with aging.

Her approach to counseling is supportive, respectful, and without judgement. Kathleen works alongside to assist clients in recognizing behavior patterns and working on cognitive change.
Sarah Hott, LCPC

Sarah Hott, LCPC

Sarah has been working with children and adolescents in therapeutic settings for over 5 years. She works with young people and their support systems on issues related to anxiety, oppositional and defiant behaviors, impulse control, ADHD symptoms, trauma, and gender and sexuality exploration. Sarah believes that working as a team with a young person and their care providers is essential to accomplishing goals in therapy and facilitating growth. 

Sarah earned her Masters degrees from Northern Illinois University, and has received specialized training in Moral Recognition Therapy (MRT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Theraplay, and Sandplay interventions. Sarah has a personal connection to play and loves to bring creative and experiential interventions into the therapy space. She specializes in child and adolescent therapy and works with individuals ages 8-25. 

Being a counselor (and an at-home chef) is Sarah’s passion and she is looking forward to working with you and your family

Anna Schmitz,  LCSW

Anna specializes in working with children, adolescents, adults and families struggling with a variety of issues including but not limited to anxiety, depression, ADHD/ADD, challenges at school, stress management, life or family transitions, women’s issues, and grief and loss.

Anna is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 18 years of experience. Anna uses a combination of Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy when working with clients.

Anna believes in establishing trust and rapport in the therapeutic relationship. She focuses on helping the client rediscover individual strengths and capabilities to enhance overall wellness and quality of life.

Andrew Garrison

Andrew Garrison, LCPC, CSAT

Andrew is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor that has over 10 years of experience in the addiction and mental health field. He uses a personal approach to treat chemical addiction, sexual addiction, pornography addiction, food addiction, gaming and internet addiction. As well as mental health disorders like depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, and trauma. Andrew works with clients 15 and above on an individual basis, and he works with couples where addiction is present. He is a fully trained CSAT counselor(certified sexual addiction therapist) which included over 140 hours of training specifically on sexual addiction.

Andrew assists his clients to become better and more confident human beings, using approaches of CBT, motivational interviewing and mindfulness while encouraging social support, and physical health through a balanced diet and an active lifestyle. Andrew believes that clients rediscovering, reaffirming, solidifying, and living consistent with their values is an important part of living a fulfilling life.
Ronald Martinez

Ronald Martinez, LCPC

Ron works with individuals of all age ranges and performs individual, marital, and family counseling . Cognitive behavioral and family systems therapy are his main theoretical approaches. Ron has over 25 years of experience addressing child and adolescent behavioral and emotional issues. These issues include; divorce adjustment, anger management, ADHD, depression, anxiety, blended family issues, ODD, and parent education. Ron is effective at helping adults overcome anger problems, men’s sexual addictions, depression, anxiety, grief, conflict resolution, boundary formation, and stress management.

In addition to professional counseling, Ron served as a student ministries pastor for 14 years. As it fits the needs of his clientele, he is skillful at Integrating faith and counseling theory.
Stephanie Parker

Stephane Parker, LCPC

Stephane is a graduate of Augustana College and Western Illinois University with experience in the education, child welfare and community mental health fields.  She practices Juedo-Christian traditions and employs CBT, solution -focused, client- focused therapies.  Stephane’s primary focus includes chemical and alcohol addictive behaviors, as well as compulsive gambling, sex, internet, and shopping addictions and overcoming the guilt and shame which accompanies such behavior. She can assist in negotiating issues of aging, including mood disorders associated with chronic health, grief, and loss. Stephane has extensive experience working with military and the formerly incarcerated populations.

Stephane has experience treating anxiety, stress, depression, and bipolar disorders. She has experience with trauma including combat veterans. Family expertise includes education and support for victims of domestic violence and codependency as well as patterns of inter-generational dysfunction. Stephane focuses on healthy communication and boundaries.

Erin Petree, LCPC

Erin received her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology from Eastern Illinois University and a Master of Arts Degree in Counseling from Webster University in St. Louis, MO. Erin’s strength is her creative, compassionate, and empathetic approach and clients report often that she is genuine and the sessions are thought provoking. Erin works with individual's 10 and older in the areas of anxiety, depression, self-esteem concerns, trauma, grief/loss, mood instability, addiction issues, and adjustment challenges. 
  
The focus and goal of therapy is to improve quality of life, learn to champion the moment, and increase joy whether that is finding effective coping strategies for present day stressors or recovering from past trauma experiences. Through a therapeutic relationship, Erin helps identify personal strengths that will help facilitate change. Cognitive behavioral therapy is utilized to help individuals recognize how irrational thinking patterns affect feelings and choices. Other avenues in therapy also include education, supportive counseling, motivational interviewing, resource development, and client-centered therapies. 
Stephanie Parker

Melissa Earnest, LMFT

 Melissa is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist who earned a Master of Arts in Christian Counseling and a Master of Divinity from Oral Roberts University in Tulsa, OK. Melissa has experience working with children, adolescents, and adults individually, and she especially enjoys doing therapy with married couples. She typically utilizes a family systems theory approach to counseling and is also efficient at helping clients identify and change destructive patterns of thinking that negatively impact clients’ emotions, behaviors, and relationships. 
Melissa addresses mental health concerns related to (but not limited to) anxiety, depression, co-dependency, marital conflict and communication problems, parenting and co-parenting concerns, stress, and grief/loss. Melissa takes a holistic approach to counseling and encourages clients to seek a balance in their physical and spiritual health as well as their mental health. When requested, Melissa is very skillful at incorporating Christian-based principles into the counseling process as well. 

Tara Thor, LCPC, NCC   


Tara Thor earned her Master of Science in Counseling from Western Illinois University - Quad Cities. She is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and a National Certified Counselor. Tara has been a helping professional working alongside, and advocating for, area individuals and families since 2005. Through this experience, she has been able to help others come to understand themselves as individuals, as well as themselves within the context of their most important relationships, communities, and culture. 

She enjoys, and has experience, working with issues such as adolescent and young adulthood adjustments, anxiety, relationship/career stress and women’s issues. She uses tools from attachment theory, ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and dialectical behavior therapy (DBT). 

Since completing her degree, she continues to be dedicated to seeing that each person she works with feels heard and understood as they manage the many challenges life presents. It is her intent to provide a natural and relaxed therapeutic environment to each individual she sees.



Chris Gresham, LCPC     

Chris earned his Masters degree in Clinical/Community Mental Health from Western Illinois University- Macomb Campus. He has experience working with individuals in both community mental health and private practice settings. His areas of clinical expertise and interest include depressive disorders, general and social anxiety, trauma disorders, grief, life changes, and ADHD. He enjoys working with a wide variety of individuals, from the ages of eight years old to late adulthood.

 

When working with clients, Chris employs concepts from a variety of therapeutic modalities that are tailored to best fit his clients’ needs, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Play Therapy, and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. He is a firm believer in the concept that each client is the expert of their own lives, and as such employs an approach that encourages collaboration and openness between client and provider.

Peggy earned her master’s degree from St. Ambrose University. She is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. Using a trauma informed approach to therapy, she enjoys serving culturally diverse patients 14 to 35 years of age. She is experienced in using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for concerns relating to adoption, self-image issues, depression, anxiety, parenting stress, and barriers to a fulfilling life.

Peggy uses a solution focused approach and has a natural style that makes her clients feel comfortable. She feels that her experience in community mental health, child welfare and nonprofit agency work helped her to build a down to earth view of mental health. Peggy wants to help others reach their goals in order to be their best self.

 Kate Stamer, FNP

Kate Stamer is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner specializing in medication management of psychiatric/mental health conditions including depression, anxiety, and ADD/ADHD, among others. Kate recognizes that medications can play a vital role in promoting and maintaining good health, while her holistic approach and multidisciplinary background ensure that all aspects of the patient are considered during treatment, such as underlying medical conditions, potential medication interactions and/or side effects, counseling, access to healthcare, and patient support systems.  Kate is passionate about her work in mental health, and strives to provide a caring and supportive environment for her patients.

Kate received her undergraduate training from St. Ambrose University, holding a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology and in nursing. She received her graduate training from University of Illinois at Chicago in their Family Nurse Practitioner program. She is nationally certified by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners and holds an active licenses in both Illinois and Iowa. She is a board member of the Quad Cities Area Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistant Alliance, and a member of American Association of Nurse Practitioners and the Illinois Society for Advance Practice Nurses. Kate’s prior professional experience includes acute care, cardiology, and pediatrics/family practice, and she is actively working toward post-graduate certification in psychiatry/mental health.   Kate also offer GeneSight Psychotropic Testing. This test can help inform you about how your genes may impact your response to certain medicines.
